Fogarty
In 1877, Fogarty began as a feather processing company located in Boston, Lincolnshire, which was the heart of England’s poultry rearing area. The name Fogarty came from Edward Fogarty, a local entrepreneur, who in 1901 acquired the company. Under Edward Fogarty’s guidance, the company survived stiff competition and the rationing of the World War 2 by remaining a small business in a niche market and developing expertise. Fogarty rapidly became famous for finest quality feather pillows and mattresses.
As well as continuing to manufacture the filled products on which the company’s reputation was founded, Dorma also launched innovative new products. These included nylon sheets in 1956 and Fogarty’s first man-made fillings in 1958. Today, Fogarty is a master quilt and pillow maker, using an unbeatable combination of quality materials, traditional craftsmanship and modern technology.
